Material nature, defined by its inability to sustain itself beyond what is permitted, is inherently subject to decay. A desire to live longer, endure longer and feel more deeply is driven by lust. Within this momentary blooming, passion pollinates one’s surroundings for the fruits to be enjoyed, yet the petals still wither away as they must decay. Similarly, as one inhabits the body, the contemplation lies in being conscious of its transitory and impermanent nature, aiming to focus only on what one can control.
